Malibu wanted to attract a younger audience in an attempt to refresh its brand. AnalogFolk’s solution was to re-engage young people back to having fun, setting goals, achievements, and treasuring special moments for the summer. This notion was manifested in the form of a digital experience with a bespoke platform site, which sits on Malibu’s YouTube channel.

The idea was to create your own ‘Bucket List’, participate in competitions, encouraging friends and family to do the same, generating content shared on: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. – all in the name of having the #BestSummerEver.

VimpelCom | Veon Brand Messaging / Chat App

The newly branded Veon app released by VimpelCom/Wind enables customers to make and receive internet calls, and chat via instant message. Veon customers can also share pictures, videos and voice notes. Working alongside with UX (designing for Android devices), the UI elements for the app were designed up and contributed to atomic graphical elements for a developer’s toolkit.

The designs shown above were still in working progress and may not reflect the latest versions of the live product. The featured screens show: onboard setup for new customers; the app’s contacts list; chat screen with media-sharing functions; and some concept propositions for external brand integration (such as partnering with the Deezer music app).

Dulux Trade as a brand mainly services the field of professional and industrial decorators. They have also expanded their services out into the education sector, to provide aid in interior design for schools, via the ‘Smarter Spaces’ programme.

The responsive site for desktop and mobile provides this as a platform for education industry clients. They get to acquire these services, and explore design inspiration for adapted learning spaces in the school environments.

Mazda | Mazda 6 Configurator Expandable Banner

As part of an online ad campaign to promote the new Mazda 6, the design of an MPU expandable required a bespoke concept approach. The idea was to provide consumers an in-depth look into the new model , therefore the banner expanded upon rollover to reveal a ‘taster’ 360-configurator-style showcase of the key features.

Tate & Lyle | Baking Dreams Competition Campaign

Tate & Lyle held a competition attracting and bringing together the baking community. An online hub was created as part of the campaign, where participants can exchange their pack promotion codes for instant prizes… Or they could tell Tate & Lyle their Baking Dream for the chance to win £5,000 to make their dream a reality. Through this online hub, aspiring bakers would be encouraged to engage at multiple touch points throughout T&L’s online baking community.

Ben & Jerry’s | #MyBenAndJerrys Competition

Ben & Jerry’s launched a Twitter competition to entice fans to create their own “Core” flavour combinations, using the hash tag: #MyBenAndJerrys. As the competition drew to a close and announced the winning flavour, the tub required a custom design to reflect that, and was also announced on the B&J website as an animated homepage takeover.

BarclayCard | Bespoke Offers Mobile App

BarclayCard’s Bespoke Offers enable customers to look for discounted deals on various products and services, which tie in with payments on their current accounts. The mobile app went through a complete redesign and UX revision. Aside from an initial redesign for iOS 7, this was then translated to the Android platform, whereby it was designed for the KitKat version.

NatWest | In-Branch Digital Signage

NatWest came to AKQA with a customer engagement brief for their banking branches. Our solution was to provide various messaging related to services, products and brand, to be played on their in-branch digital signage. Each film used our bespoke animation style and lasted approximately 90 secs. The visual shows the Financial Planning execution which showed different ‘live stages’ and reflected the key ‘big ticket’ purchases. The main role was in the layout design of some key scenes for concepts, storyboarding, and the arrangement of final asset deliverables ready for motion graphics production.

RBS Group | Business Banking mobile app

The Royal Bank of Scotland Group acquired the services of AKQA, to create mobile banking apps for NatWest and RBS. Following the success of the retail banking apps, we were then asked to develop this further specifically for business customers.

The approach was a complete rebrand of the app — including new interface layouts and functionalities. With the aid of newly revised user-experience, the exercise was in executing the appropriate UI design of multiple screen layouts and icon creations, whilst merging RBSG-associated branding with native device OS interfacing. The app was created for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry phone devices.

Xbox | Xbox.com Game Detail Pages

Xbox.com for the EMEA markets regularly showcased and promoted new titles. Upon the upcoming releases, the games’ custom designed pages would entice gamers to read up on story plots, features, watch the trailers and screen shots, and ultimately drive through to purchases via online retailers.

Some of the Xbox 360 titles I’ve worked on include: FIFA 11, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Fable III, Halo Reach and Portal 2.
